Brady Powers

Director, Human Resources at Mississippi Power Co

Brady Powers became Mississippi Power’s director of Human Resources in April 2022.

Powers is responsible for Safety and Training, HR Delivery, Talent Management, Workers' Compensation, Health and Medical Services, Wellness, Labor Relations and Employee Relations.

She previously served as the company’s employee relations manager since 2018. She has participated in three labor contract negotiations and was the company’s lead negotiator in 2019.

Powers joined Mississippi Power in 2000 as a human resources business consultant, supporting generation. Over the next several years, she assumed positions of increasing responsibility, including employee relations coordinator, labor relations manager and HR manager.

Powers has held an officer position on the Mississippi-Louisiana Labor Management Conference Board since 2014, and currently serves as Chair of the organization. She served on the St. Vincent de Paul School Advisory Council for six years and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. In addition, she currently serves on the Mississippi Power Leadership Development Council.

Powers graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration in management with an emphasis on human resources. She also holds a Certificate in Contract Administration Studies from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

As of December 31, 2016, the Company was engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution and purchase of electricity and the sale of electric service within 23 counties in southeastern Mississippi, at retail in 123 communities (including Biloxi, Gulfport, Hattiesburg, Laurel, Meridian and Pascagoula), as well as in rural areas, and at wholesale to one municipality, six rural electric distribution cooperative associations, and one generating and transmitting cooperative. As of December 31, 2016, the Company owned a 79-mile length of 500-kilovolt transmission line, which was leased to Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, LLC. The Company offers a range of programs and services for homes, such as water heaters, heat pumps, financing and electric vehicles. The Company offers specialized programs and services for property managers, developers and other commercial clients.
