Karie Untiedt is a seasoned healthcare professional currently serving as the Director of Quality and Patient Safety at the Missouri Hospital Association since March 2024. Prior to this role, Karie held multiple positions at MOSAIC MEDICAL CENTER - MARYVILLE, including Director of Regulatory Patient Safety and Director of Organizational Effectiveness from 2016 to 2024. Karie's experience also includes a significant tenure at SSM Health St. Francis Hospital as Director of Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management and Nurse Manager from 2007 to 2019, alongside clinical education roles at North Central Missouri College and SSM Health-St. Francis Hospital. Karie holds a Master’s degree in Nursing Leadership & Management from Western Governors University, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and an Associate's degree in Registered Nursing from Southwestern Community College.

Since its creation in 1922, MHA has grown from 50 to more than 150 member hospitals. As a not-for-profit membership association, MHA represents every acute care hospital in the state, as well as most of the federal and state hospitals and rehabilitation and psychiatric care facilities. Just as our member hospitals have broadened their scope to embrace the continuum of health care services, MHA also has expanded its services to members throughout its history. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its members, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public and the media, as well as legislative representatives, about health care issues.
