Erv Switzer has extensive legal and governmental experience, currently serving as General Counsel at UB Greensfelder since May 2007, with responsibilities in legal ethics, government relations, and appellate law. Erv Switzer has also held a position on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Technology Corporation since January 2017. Previous roles include serving as a Purchasing Member on the Board of Police Commissioners for the City of St. Louis from 2012 to 2013, a Council Member for the Governor's Council on Disability from 2009 to 2012, and a Board Member for Paraquad, Inc. from 1995 to 2007. Additional experience includes serving as Chief Counsel for the Missouri Attorney General's Office from 1994 to 2005 and Board President for the St. Louis Public Library from 1998 to 2002. Erv Switzer earned a JD from the Saint Louis University School of Law between 1978 and 1981.

Investing directly in early stage ventures through the IDEA funds and supporting the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem through the MOBEC grant program, the Missouri Technology Corporation ("MTC") is a public-private partnership created by the Missouri General Assembly to promote entrepreneurship and foster the growth of new and emerging high-tech companies. The Innovation, Development, and Entrepreneurship Advancement (IDEA) Funds are deployed through four programs: Missouri TechLaunch, Seed Capital Co-Investment Program, Venture Capital Co-Investment Program, and the High-Tech Industrial Expansion Program. Companies in the applied engineering, defense and homeland security, biomedical science, animal health, and plant sciences seeking seed or venture funding are encouraged to apply. Through the Missouri Building Economic Capacity (MOBEC) program, MTC makes strategic investments that expand the support system for entrepreneurs that are commercializing new technologies or that enhance the capacity of Missouri to grow its innovation economy. Eligible Applicants are public or private non-profit Missouri research institutions and non-profit entrepreneurial support and related organizations.
