Michelle Aguayo

Vice President, Programs, Policy & Evaluation at Mitacs

Michelle Aguayo has an extensive work history. Michelle started their career in 2006 as a Marketing Coordinator at Pivotal Payments. Michelle later worked as a Lecturer, Facilitator, and Researcher at Concordia University from 2008 to 2011. From 2011 to 2012, they served as a Senior Manager of Program Operations at the Canadian Board Diversity Council. In 2013, they joined Mitacs as a Manager of Skills/Training Programs and gradually moved up to become the Director of Skills/Training Program. Michelle then served as the Director of Pilot Program Operations and Director of Program Development. Recently, they took on the role of Acting Vice President of Programs, Policy & Evaluation at Mitacs. Additionally, in 2014, they briefly worked as a Consultant at the Canadian Hispanic Congress. Overall, Michelle has demonstrated expertise in program management, training development, and strategic leadership throughout their career.

Michelle Aguayo completed their education with a BA in Psychology from Concordia University in 2004. Michelle then pursued an MSc. in Media at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2004 to 2005. Later, they returned to Concordia University and is currently working towards a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Gender, sexuality, and race in the media, starting from 2009. Additionally, they obtained certification as a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner from Prosci in 2021.
