Andrea Simmons

Andrea Simmons is an experienced educator currently serving as a third grade teacher at Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School within New London Public Schools since October 2022. In addition, Andrea holds positions as a School Psychology Consultant for Mitchell College and an Executive Functioning Coach with Fast Forward College Coaching, both roles beginning in 2023. Andrea previously worked as the Student Services & Engagement Administrator at Ledyard Public Schools, leading special education programming and contributing to IEP development. Prior to that, Andrea was the School Principal at LEARN from 2015 to 2021, managing a public magnet school and driving strategic planning and professional development. Andrea’s teaching background includes roles at Boston Public Schools, where instruction focused on first, second, and fourth grades with an emphasis on inclusive models. Academic qualifications include a CAGS in Educational Leadership and Administration, an M.Ed. in Elementary Education, and a BA in Developmental Psychology, complemented by leadership fellowship training in PK-3 education.
