McKayla Murphy Zelaya is currently a student at Mitchell Hamline School of Law since August 2022. With extensive experience in program management and community education, McKayla has served as the Lead Dance Coordinator at the City of Plymouth since 2016, enhancing a youth dance program and developing leadership among assistant teachers. Previous roles include Program Manager at Girl Scouts River Valleys, where McKayla led initiatives in outdoor activities, life skills, STEM, and entrepreneurship, and Racial Justice Development Specialist at YWCA Mankato, focusing on racial equity programs. McKayla holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from Gustavus Adolphus College, where involvement included various leadership positions, such as Community Coordinator and Vice President of Communications. Additional experiences range from internship roles at Target and NEWSCYCLE Solutions to teaching dance to children.
