Thomas Karr

Thomas Karr is a Chief Scientist at MITRE, specializing in sensors and directed energy. With over four decades of experience in the defense and space sectors, Karr previously served as the Principal Director for Directed Energy at the U.S. Department of Defense and held key roles at organizations including DARPA, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. They are the owner of Alamo Scientific LLC, a consulting firm focused on science and technology for national security and commercial applications. Karr holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Maryland and has published over 75 scientific papers, reflecting their contributions to the fields of physics and technology development.
