Kirstine Belongie

Kirstine Belongie PhD is currently serving as the interim Head I&I, senior director, Medical Science at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America, where Kirstine leads the clinical team and strategy for the Immunology & Inflammation portfolio. With a background in biochemistry, diabetes, and embryology, Kirstine has held various leadership roles in the pharmaceutical industry, including at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Development America, G&L Scientific, The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, Merck, and Novo Nordisk. Kirstine's expertise lies in discovering and investigating mechanisms for new diabetes therapies, leading clinical development teams, and organizing recruiting events. Kirstine's research focus includes beta cell therapeutics, islet biology, and diabetes programs.
