George Teodorescu

Global Head of Risk and Compliance at Mixbook

George Teodorescu has extensive experience in risk management, legal consulting, and corporate law. George began their career in 1999 as a Summer Associate at Mackenzie Hughes LLP, conducting legal research and attending depositions and motion arguments. George then worked as a Research Assistant for Professors George Bermann and Amy Chua at Columbia Law School, researching international contract law and foreign direct investment. From 2001 to 2007, George held positions as a Contract Attorney, Associate, and Senior Associate at various NYC law firms, Curan & Ahlers, and CMS Cameron McKenna, respectively. In 2009, they were appointed Managing Attorney at Vernon | David Law Firm, where they established and managed a regional law firm's office in the Republic of Moldova. From 2015 to 2016, George worked as a Legal Consultant, assisting US-based clients and law firms with key aspects of doing business in the Republic of Moldova. In 2016, they became Global Head of Risk and Compliance at Mixbook, where they designed, implemented, and led a global risk management strategy. Additionally, they served as Regional Director - Moldova, overseeing and coordinating all administrative, HR, legal, and logistical issues. Most recently, George was appointed Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova in 2020.

George Teodorescu has a well-rounded educational history. George began their studies in 1991 at Binghamton University, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and Affairs, Spanish in 1995. In 1994, they studied abroad for a semester at the Universidad de Oviedo, focusing on Spanish Language & Literature. From 1997 to 2000, they attended Syracuse University College of Law and obtained their Juris Doctor (J.D.) in Law (Cum Laude). During this time, they also spent a year at Columbia Law School as a Visiting student (non-degree).
