David Morival

David Morival has extensive work experience in the financial industry. David currently holds the position of Managing Director | Chief Strategy & Operating Officer at Mizuho. In this role, they are responsible for strategic planning, PMO, finance, middle office, legal & regulatory, and IT & data management. David manages a team of over 60 people across various corporate banking functions. Prior to this, they held the position of Executive Director | Head of Strategic Planning, Risk Management, IT & Data at Mizuho. Before Mizuho, they worked as Senior Vice President | Strategic Planning and Director | Head of Planning, Risk Management, and Finance & Control at Mizuho. David also served as Associate Director | Risk Management and Associate | AML and CDD Compliance at Mizuho. Outside of their financial industry roles, they have also been involved as a Co-Facilitator at the Foundation for Natural Leadership and as a Member of the Advisory Board at Slow Cabins.

David Morival has a Master's degree in Japanese Studies from KU Leuven, which they obtained from 2003 to 2008. David also has a Bachelor's degree from Shinshu University, which they earned in 2006 and 2007. In 2019 and 2020, David attended the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, where they completed the Executive Programme in Strategic Management. In addition to their degrees, David has obtained certifications in Growth Hacking Crash Course, PRINCE2® Foundation Certification, and Financial Risk and Regulation.
