Tomoaki Kawamura

Tomoaki Kawamura is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in quantitative investment and research. Currently serving as Chief Data Scientist and Chief Quantitative Analyst at Mizuho since March 2022, Tomoaki leads quantamental research for global markets and spearheads digital transformation efforts. Previously, from March 2015 to February 2022, Tomoaki worked at Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management Co., Ltd. as a Portfolio Manager in the Equity Investment Group, focusing on quantamental investment strategies. Additionally, Tomoaki held positions as Manager in the Investment Planning Department and as a Quantitative Investment Researcher at Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Investment Technology Institute Co., Ltd. from April 2009 to February 2015, where quantitative investment strategies were the primary focus across equities, bonds, and currency allocation. Education includes advanced studies at the Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University, and an undergraduate degree from Kyoto University.
