Alejandro Monsalvo has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Alejandro started his career as a Weatherization Technician at Puertorriqueños Asociados for Community Organization, Inc. (PACO) from September 2009 to December 2014. In this role, he inspected buildings, recommended weatherization techniques, and tested air flow systems.

After that, Alejandro worked as a Field Engineer CM/CI at M&J Engineering, P.C. from January 2015 to December 2016. Alejandro assisted engineering superintendents, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project schedules and budgets. Alejandro also resolved technical issues, interpreted design drawings, implemented quality control procedures, and prepared reports for subcontractors.

From 2017 to 2020, Alejandro held the position of Field Engineer CM/CI at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. In this role, he provided resident engineering inspection services for MTA/TBTA projects, including repairs, rehabilitation, and replacements of various systems and structures.

Starting in 2018, Alejandro rejoined M&J Engineering, P.C. as a Resident Engineer. Alejandro worked on projects such as QM-01X on the Queens Midtown Tunnel and the Holland Tunnel Sandy Repairs and Resiliency Improvements project for the Port Authority of NY and NJ. In these roles, he managed project costs, provided technical expertise, and oversaw construction activities.

Since October 2021, Alejandro has been also working as the Chief Engineer at M&J Engineering, P.C. for the Van Wyck Expressway program. This design-build project aims to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow at the Kew Gardens Interchange.

Alejandro Monsalvo, P.E. is a Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and he has an extensive education history in civil engineering. Alejandro earned his Engineer's Degree in Civil Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2015. Prior to that, he obtained an Associate's degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de San Juan in Argentina from 2002 to 2007.

In addition to their academic degrees, Alejandro has also obtained numerous certifications and professional designations. Alejandro holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license from the NYSED, obtained in December 2020, and another PE license from the Connecticut Board of Examiners for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, obtained in April 2022. Alejandro is also certified as an Engineer in Training by the State of New Jersey, obtained in March 2017 and gained his Professional Engineer License by the New Jersey Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors in May 2022. Additionally, Alejandro obtained his State of Florida Professional Engineer License issued by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers on April 2023.

Furthermore, Alejandro possesses a wide range of certifications related to electrical safety, business ethics, confined space entry, fall protection for construction, lockout/tagout procedures, stormwater discharges and permits in construction, GHS and OSHA hazardous communication, OSHA 30/10 hour outreach training, and work zone safety awareness. Alejandro has also obtained designations such as ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1 from the American Concrete Institute, HMA Construction Technologist from the New Jersey Society of Asphalt Technologists, and Traffic Control Coordinator Designation from Rutgers University.
