Karel Haerens

Karel Haerens is a machine learning engineer at ML6. Karel previously worked as a software developer at AZ Maria Middelares from December 2020 to May 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a software engineer at imec from February 2020 to July 2020, where they worked on the hotseats project in the krook library. Karel also completed a software engineering internship at imec from July 2019 to August 2019. Before their career in software engineering, Karel worked as a bartender at Café de loge from October 2016 to April 2020.

Karel Haerens has a Master's degree in Computer Science from Ghent University and a Bachelor of Engineering - BE in Computer Science from Ghent University. Karel also has a High School Diploma in grieks-wiskunde from sint-barbara college and is certified from Google Cloud in Professional Data Engineer.

Karel Haerens reports to Rebekka Moyson, Squad Lead & Data Engineer. They work with Thomas Vrancken - Machine Learning Engineer, Arne Vandendorpe - Machine Learning Engineer, and Maximilian Biber - Customer Engineer.
