Melonee Gaines

Melonee Gaines is an experienced professional in media, education, and communication, currently serving as the Audience Engagement Manager at MLK50: Justice Through Journalism since February 2023, where responsibilities include growing social media presence and managing audience interactions. As the Founder and Lead Maven of MPact Media Group, LLC since 2013, Melonee has orchestrated public relations efforts for various initiatives. Prior experience includes a prominent role as Senior Reading Advisor for Shelby County Schools from 2011 to 2023, where Melonee led curriculum development and supported teachers. Additional roles encompass media relations, writing fellowships, and teaching positions across multiple educational institutions. Melonee holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from The University of Memphis and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from The University of Southern Mississippi.
