Tammy Hayes has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Tammy started their career as a Flight Nurse at 109 AES in 1981 and worked in that role until 2001. From 1999 to 2002, they served as a Patient Care Manager in the Emergency Department at Children's Hospital and Clinics Minneapolis. Tammy then joined St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City as a Clinical Nurse Manager in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit from 2004 to 2007. Since 2007, Tammy has been with Northfield Hospital + Clinics, where they have held various positions including Chief Nurse Executive and Hospital & Long Term Care Administrator.

Tammy Hayes obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Nursing from The College of St. Scholastica, where they studied from 1979 to 1983. Tammy later pursued further education at Cardinal Stritch University from 1997 to 1999, earning a Master of Science in Health Care Administration (MSH) degree. In addition to their degrees, Tammy Hayes also obtained a certification in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) from AONL in June 2019.
