Barak Cohen

Fellow, Algorithms at Mobileye

Barak Cohen is a senior technical leader at Mobileye, leading teams responsible for the first prototypes and productization of cutting-edge Mobileye technologies. Since joining Mobileye in 2005, he has been instrumental in the development of breakthrough technologies in the field of object recognition and environmental modeling. These include pedestrian detection, vehicle from any angle detection (vd3d), free space and road boundaries detection, arbitrary object detection, geometrical modeling with structure from motion (SFM), road modeling, ego motion, and more.

More recently, Cohen joined Mobileye’s autonomous vehicle development team and is helping develop the company’s approach to AV design. Internally, he is a champion for healthy work methodologies and good development infrastructure and tools. He holds 6 patents, 1 allowed, and 15 pending in the area of computer science.

Cohen attended the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering and Master of Science in computer science.
