Embedded System Engineer at Mobilus Labs

Azmat Bilal has a diverse work experience in engineering and entrepreneurship. Azmat is currently employed as an Embedded System Engineer at Mobilus Labs since September 2021. Prior to this, they co-founded Nyrvan at Entrepreneur First in August 2020, where they focused on developing a business idea around food automation using low-cost modular robots. Azmat created a custom robotic arm prototype with a custom tool changer and manipulator, including its electronics, mechanical design, and programming. Azmat'srole at Entrepreneur First also included being a Cohort Entrepreneur from April 2020 to July 2020.

Before their time at Entrepreneur First, Azmat worked as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer at ProGlove from August 2016 to March 2020. Azmat was responsible for the hardware architecture and HDI electronic design of smart wearables for industrial IoT. Azmat successfully brought three products from prototype to series production, meeting automotive grade certification, and serving customers such as BMW, Audi, Daimler, Lufthansa, Tesla, and Amazon.

Prior to ProGlove, Azmat was the co-founder and CTO of Daira tech, where they worked on providing connectivity to the unconnected and developing solutions that allowed people to communicate with their family without relying on cellular or internet connections. Azmat led design and hardware development and secured backing from investors in Jordan and Dubai.

As a co-founder and hardware lead at WÜF, Azmat developed a high-tech wearable for the petcare industry: a smart collar for dogs offering personalized health monitoring, training, and tracking. Azmat'swork was highly successful, achieving a 190% funded Kickstarter campaign, angel and seed investments, and over 1,000 preorders.

During their bachelors, Azmat started their own company, Shamrock Green, providing consultancy and engineering design services to more than 20 clients from the USA and Europe. Azmat managed a team of seven engineers during their tenure.

Azmat Bilal graduated from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics Engineering. In June 2015, they received a certification in Design Thinking from the Design Institute amman, taught by Diala Lteif.
