Joe Merrill

Joe Merrill is the CEO of OpenTeams, a role undertaken since October 2024, focusing on promoting Open SaaS solutions. As a General Partner at SputnikATX since August 2014, Joe invests in visionary founders through a pre-seed accelerator program. Joe also serves as a Board Member for Mod Tech Labs and Saveday, supporting innovations in 3-D technology and retirement savings, respectively. Joe is a Trustee at the University of the Potomac and previously held trustee positions at the London College of International Business Studies. Joe's experience includes consulting for Teza Technologies and serving on the Board of Directors for The STEM Academy. As a cofounder of SmartFunded, Inc. and Pan Am Education, Joe has contributed to advancements in online fundraising and blended learning. Joe holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in East Asian Studies from the University of California, Davis.
