Arlo Faria has worked at a variety of companies since 1998. Arlo started as a Sales Associate at Godiva Chocolatier in 1998, then moved on to become a Screen Clerk at the New York Mercantile Exchange in 2000. In 2003, they began working as a Researcher at the International Computer Science Institute, where they conducted research on automatic speech recognition. Arlo was also a Visiting Researcher at The University of Edinburgh in 2005. In 2008, they co-founded Modista, a visual search for e-commerce, and in 2009 they became a Senior Software Engineer at TheFind, Inc., a comparison shopping search engine. In 2011, they founded Mod9 Technologies, a company that built an ASR Engine for Remeeting and licensed it at mod9.io. In 2015, they founded Remeeting and in 2022 they began working as a Research Scientist at Zoom.
Arlo Faria received their B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004. Arlo then continued their studies at the same university, earning their Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2015.
