Jessie Lake (Silvis) has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They began their career as an Alumni Leadership Intern at Teach For America, where they developed a regional website and produced resources for TFA alumni. They also worked as a Sales Associate and Barista at Olivia Macaron.

Jessie then joined the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities as an Outreach Intern, where they analyzed data and interviewed campaign partners to create a comprehensive report. They also worked as a Coordinator and Community Outreach Chair at DC Reads, overseeing an after-school tutoring program and planning events for students and families.

In 2016, Jessie became a Corps Member at Teach For America, teaching math in the School District of Philadelphia. They continued teaching at the same school as a 7th and 8th Grade Math Teacher until 2019. During their time in Teach For America, they engaged in professional development activities focused on diversity, equity, and inclusiveness, among other topics.

After leaving the School District of Philadelphia, Jessie joined Albert | Learn By Doing as a Content Manager, where they audited instructional content and implemented SEO techniques to increase site traffic. They then transitioned to the role of Content Specialist, designing and editing instructional content and managing a team of freelancers. Later, they took on a hybrid role as a Content Specialist & Data Analyst, building data models and dashboards to inform content and sales strategy.

In 2022, Jessie worked as a Research Volunteer at Kinder, analyzing charitable organizations' effectiveness and transparency. Currently, they are the Director of Math Curriculum & Support at Modern Classrooms Project.

Throughout their career, Jessie has demonstrated a commitment to education, equity, and policy research, and has developed a wide range of skills in content management, data analysis, and team management.

Jessie Lake (Silvis) completed their Bachelor's Degree in Government and French from Georgetown University, from 2012 to 2015. Jessie then pursued a Certificate in Urban Education from the University of Pennsylvania, between 2016 and 2018. Jessie also briefly studied Political Science at L'Institut d'Etudes Politiques in 2015. Prior to their higher education, they attended Libertyville High School from 2008 to 2012. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Instructional Design Essentials: Models of ID from LinkedIn in 2021.
