Arvind Kannan

Arvind Kannan is a Computational Physicist at Modern Electron since February 2017, specializing in simulation tools for modeling low-energy electron dynamics in thermionic converters. Concurrently, Arvind has been a PhD candidate at Stanford University since September 2013, focusing on a biotechnology platform to enhance protein engineering through advanced optical measurements and microcapillary technologies. Prior experiences include an MPhil in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, where computational methods for biomolecular dynamics were developed, an internship at D. E. Shaw Research working on drug discovery, and roles as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Research Fellow at Caltech. Earlier, Arvind served as a Lab Assistant at NASA Ames Research Center, exploring carbon nanotubes' emission properties. Educational background includes a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Caltech, an MPhil from Cambridge, and a PhD from Stanford.
