Jim Portmann

Jim Portmann is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the engineering and business development sectors. Since August 2009, Jim has served as President and Business Development Manager at Modern Molding, Inc., overseeing new customer development, contract management, and pricing strategy while also evaluating supplier negotiations. Previously, Jim held roles as Engineering Manager and Project Management Engineer, facilitating product launches and coordinating production processes. Prior to working at Modern Molding, Jim studied mechanical engineering at the University of St. Thomas, where notable projects included the design and manufacture of a carbon fiber bicycle frame, coupled with experience as a Teaching Assistant in mechanical engineering courses. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of St. Thomas, completed in 2009.
