Sarah West Young has a wide range of work experience. Sarah West started their career in 2012 as a Marketing Manager for US LAND GROUP, where they increased engagement by revamping the events schedule, building partnerships in PR, and designing and launching a monthly 16-page color newsletter. In 2015, they became the Director of Marketing for PIEG LLC, where they crafted marketing strategy from the ground up for a $500M real estate development designed to demonstrate the potential of circularity in the built environment. In 2018, they were selected as a United Nations SDG Global Talent to accelerate breakthrough solutions for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Founder + Editor of Material Change, a fortnightly newsletter about all things circular economy, and a Senior Consultant and Manager of Growth & Innovation at Sia Partners. Currently, they are the Head of Growth at Modern Synthesis, leveraging bacteria to transform agricultural waste into nanocellulose, a biodegradable material.
Sarah West Young completed their Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and National Security Studies at Florida International University between 2008 and 2012. Sarah West then went on to obtain a Postgraduate Certificate in Project Management from Harvard Extension School in 2014. In 2017, they completed their Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship & Innovation Strategy at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
