Niranjan Cheerla

Niranjan Cheerla is an accomplished automation engineer with extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Currently serving as Associate Director and Sr. Principal Automation Engineer at Moderna since May 2022, Niranjan has previously held key positions at Biogen, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Emerson Process Management, specializing in DeltaV and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Responsibilities have included leading automation system development, commissioning, and validation for large-scale manufacturing facilities, as well as managing engineering teams across various projects. Niranjan's career began in instrumentation, with roles at Glaxo Smith Kline Consumer Healthcare and Godavari Fertilizers and Chemicals, supporting manufacturing operations. Niranjan holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Andhra University.
