Bryce Lohr

Bryce Lohr has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Bryce currently works as a Software Engineer at Modern Life, where they are a member of the founding engineering team. Bryce'srole involves software design, architectural leadership, and full-stack development.

Prior to their current role, Bryce worked at Harry's, Inc. from 2017 to 2021 as a Senior Staff Engineer. During this time, they supported and extended internal tooling for a data warehouse using Python 3, Scala, SQL, AWS Lambda, and AWS Data Pipeline. The tooling was used by data engineers, analytics engineers, and data analysts to model and present data to the entire enterprise.

From 2015 to 2017, Bryce was a Data Engineer at LearnVest, where they played a crucial role in building a reliable and scalable data pipeline. Bryce pulled data from various source systems such as MySQL, MongoDB, and third-party SaaS solutions using REST APIs and stored it in AWS Redshift. The pipeline was built using Python 3 and ran in Docker containers.

Bryce also worked at Inmar from 2011 to 2015, initially as a Data Engineer and later as a Web Services Lead. As a Data Engineer, they were responsible for ingesting data into Hadoop, building data processing applications, and implementing statistical/machine learning models using tools like Hive, Cascading, Scalding, and Mahout. In their role as a Web Services Lead, they designed and developed RESTful web services and APIs using Python and Django on MySQL.

Before their time at Inmar, Bryce worked as a Contract Developer at Lifetouch Portrait Studios in 2011, where they added new features and resolved issues with the e-commerce system powering JCPenny's and Target's national e-commerce sites.

From 2007 to 2011, Bryce served as a Development Manager/Lead Developer at Patient Advocate Foundation, where they developed a web-based enterprise system to manage the Co-Pay Relief program. Bryce was responsible for all aspects of system design, development, and maintenance.

In 2010, Bryce worked as a Contract Developer at Wells Fargo, where they helped develop an inventory system for the data management group using PHP, Oracle stored procedures, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Earlier in their career, Bryce had short-term contract positions at Accordant Health Services, where they added features to the SilverOrange Intranet, and at PropertySoft, Inc., where they helped design and implement a hierarchical, group-based system for managing real estate transactions.

In 2001, Bryce worked as a Software Developer at Allen Daniel and Associates Inc., contributing to the transition of their accounting system from a "green screen" terminal-based system to web-based technologies using PHP and SQL Server.

Overall, Bryce has demonstrated expertise in software engineering, data engineering, web services, and full-stack development.

Bryce Lohr obtained a Diploma from Trinity High School, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Subsequently, from 1997 to 1998, they attended the School of Communication Arts and earned a Certificate in Computer Art and Animation.
