Jonas Ekblad

Jonas Ekblad is an experienced executive in energy trading, currently serving as the CEO of Modity Energy Trading AB since June 2016, having previously held roles such as Acting CEO, Head Of Trading, and Head Of Middle Office within the same organization. Prior to this, Jonas Ekblad worked at DONG Energy from July 2011 to May 2016 as Lead Trader and Senior Energy Trader. Earlier career highlights include positions at Varietas Capital AB as Portfolio Manager, E.ON Energy Trading as Lead Trader Nordic Power, and E.ON Energihandel Nordic AB as Head of Structured and Environmental Trading. Jonas Ekblad began the career at Sydkraft Energy Trading AB as Team Leader and Portfolio Manager and initially held roles at Sydkraft AB as a Portfolio Manager and Power Analyst. Educationally, Jonas Ekblad holds a Master's Degree in Engineering Physics from The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University and has additional studies at Lund University and Technische Universität Darmstadt, along with military training as a Second Lieutenant from the Swedish Army Artillery School.
