Angel Javier Carrillo Bermejo

Angel Javier Carrillo Bermejo has a diverse work experience in the field of AI, deep learning, and computer vision. Angel Javier is currently employed at Modulate as a Machine Learning Engineer, starting in October 2022. Previously, they worked at Apziva as an AI Resident, where they designed ML systems and conducted research and implementation of ML algorithms and tools. Angel Javier also selected appropriate datasets for analysis during their tenure from December 2021 to February 2023.

Before that, Angel was a PhD student at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, specializing in vision for mobile robots, virtual reality, augmented reality, and computer vision for control and verification systems. Angel Javier started their doctoral studies in July 2018.

Angel also had research experience as a Research Scientist at IIMAS - Instituto de Investigaciones en Matemáticas Aplicadas y Sistemas. During their tenure from March 2016 to September 2022, they focused on distributed AI, deep learning, and computer vision solutions. Angel Javier presented talks on specific projects, ran statistical analyses, and highlighted the importance of projects.

Furthermore, Angel pursued their education as a Graduate Student at Facultad de Matemáticas - UADY from August 2016 to June 2018, where they continued to work on distributed AI, deep learning, and computer vision. Angel Javier presented project talks, analyzed outcomes versus objectives, and processed large datasets.

In addition to their research experience, Angel gained early professional experience as a Junior Software Developer at Aptem and as a Research and Development Engineer at Plenumsoft in 2015. Angel Javier also worked as a Research Assistant at Texas A&M University in 2014, focusing on distributed AI, deep learning, and computer vision.

Angel began their career as a Barista at Starbucks from October 2011 to July 2012. Finally, they participated in the 13th IEEE-EMBS International Summer School on Biomedical Imaging organized by Université de Rennes I in June 2018, which provided him exposure to cutting-edge research in Mathematics.

Angel Javier Carrillo Bermejo obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mecatronics Engineering from Universidad Modelo between 2010 and 2014. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science at Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan from 2016 to 2018.
