Awad Makkawi

Awad Makkawi is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in venture building, entrepreneurship, and investment analysis. As the Director of Venture Builder at Modus Capital since February 2022, Awad has been instrumental in fostering innovative startups in the UAE. Additionally, Awad founded Build Successful Startups, a platform providing premium content on scalable business models, which has grown to an audience of over 20,000. As a partner at Afaq International Group and a consultant specializing in innovation and alternative investments, Awad has executed complex financial analyses, including discounted cash flow and leveraged buyout evaluations. Previous roles include founding BizBridged, a B2B online platform, and managing clinical trials at ERGOMED PLC. Awad holds an MSc in Neuroscience from King's College London and a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Portsmouth.
