Karel Deprez is an experienced engineer specializing in hardware development, with a focus on electronics, system design, and algorithm development. Since December 2015, Karel has held the position of Head of Hardware Development and co-founder at MOLECUBES NV, overseeing a range of projects including electronics design (FPGA, digital, analog, power) and mechanical design (SolidWorks). Prior to this, Karel served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at MEDISIP Ghent University, concentrating on hardware and software for preclinical imaging systems, and held various research and design roles at MEDISIP and Gemidis, contributing to advancements in radiation detectors, SPECT imaging systems, and GPU-accelerated software. Karel’s educational background includes a Ph.D. in Engineering from Ghent University and a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering Electronics Design from HOGENT.
