Angharad Walters

Angharad Walters has a diverse work experience spanning various scientific research roles. Angharad is currently working as a Scientist at Molecular Devices since 2023. Previously, from 2019 to 2023, they worked as a PHD Candidate at Cardiff University School of Medicine, where they focused on establishing human small intestinal organoid lines and investigating genomic and transcriptomic drivers of adenoma development. During this time, they also served as the PGR Student Representative for the Division of Cancer and Genetics, where they communicated critical information during COVID lab closures and organized events.

Before that, Angharad worked as a Research Assistant and Laboratory Technician at the University of Oxford from 2016 to 2019, conducting DNA/RNA analysis in the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. Angharad also worked as a Final Year Project Student at the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute, Cardiff University in 2015.

Angharad gained early professional experience as a Research Technician at the Institute of Medical Genetics, Cardiff University, during the summer of 2015. Prior to that, they worked as a Professional Training Year Student at the same institute's Tuberous Sclerosis/Polyposis research group in 2014-2015, where they gained expertise in genomic technologies and cell line cultures.

Lastly, Angharad started their career as Bar Staff at Absolute Drinks in Pembrokeshire from 2009 to 2015.

Angharad Walters began their education at Cardiff University in 2012, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry with a Professional Training Year. Angharad completed this program in 2016.

In 2019, Angharad furthered their educational journey at Cardiff University's School of Medicine. Angharad enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program specializing in Cancer & Genetics. This program is expected to be completed in 2023.
