Jeffry Yaplee has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Jeffry began their career in 1979 at Boeing Computer Services, where they served as the Lead Data Communications Analyst and played a crucial role in implementing the Boeing-wide TCP/IP network. Jeffry worked closely with representatives from various Boeing Operating Companies to develop network designs, LAN recommendations, and network management policies.
In 1988, Yaplee joined Digital Equipment Corporation as a Senior Network Consultant, where they delivered business analysis, network management policies, and technology consulting to major clients nationwide. Jeffry successfully led over 10 consulting engagements for Fortune 500 clients.
After their tenure at Digital Equipment Corporation, Yaplee joined Compaq and Hewlett-Packard, where they worked as a Senior Internet Consultant. In this role, they collaborated with marketing teams to define and analyze functional requirements and created service offerings based on Microsoft's Commercial Internet System. Jeffry led ad hoc teams for key proposal and delivery efforts worldwide.
Yaplee later transitioned to the biotechnology industry and worked at Blue Heron Biotechnology as a Manufacturing Production Associate. Jeffry performed various tasks related to gene synthesis, including restriction digests, PCR reactions, DNA purification, and cloning.
In 2006, Yaplee joined Blue Heron Biotechnology's Research & Development group as a Research Associate I/II. Jeffry worked independently and under the guidance of senior scientists to develop new protocols for gene synthesis, PCR, and cloning. Jeffry also analyzed scientific papers to create working processes.
From 2018 to 2020, Yaplee worked at NanoString Technologies, Inc. as a Research Associate III. Jeffry was a member of the chemistry team working on projects related to diagnostic sequencing and spatial transcriptome profiling. Jeffry utilized a wide range of molecular biology tools/protocols at a cGMP facility.
Currently, Yaplee is serving as a Research Technician II at TwinStrand Biosciences. Jeffry utilizes TwinStrand's Duplex Sequencing technology to prepare Illumina Next Generation Sequencing libraries for client proof of concept projects and product research and development.

Jeffry Yaplee obtained their Bachelor's Degree from The University of Texas at Austin between 1974 and 1978. Jeffry majored in Mathematics and History with Honors, graduating with Magna cum laude honors. Later, between 2003 and 2005, they pursued an Associate's Degree in Biotechnology from Seattle Central Community College.
