María Sanmartín has had a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. María is currently working at Molecule AG as a Lead Product Design, where they focus on connecting researchers to funding for the development of therapeutics. Prior to this, they worked at AKASHA Foundation as a Senior Experience Researcher & Designer, contributing to the creation of a social media framework enhanced by blockchain technology. María also served as a Senior UX Researcher & Innovation Lead at Cofidis España and as a Lead User Experience Researcher & Designer at Goin, where they aimed to improve the user experience of their products. Before that, they worked at Nacar Design as a Service Designer and at Vueling Airlines as a User Experience Researcher and Designer. María gained freelance experience as an Arts, Experience, Design & Engineering consultant and started their career at HP as a User Experience Researcher and Industrial Design Engineer. Additionally, they worked at Hungry Castle as an Industrial Designer and Creative Intern and participated in the Innotalent25 Ed.5 Program at LEITAT Technological Center.

María Sanmartín's education history includes various degrees and fields of study. In 2022-2030, they attended KERNEL and earned a degree in Kernel Block 7, specializing in Blockchain Web3. From 2021-2023, María pursued a Master's degree in User Experience & Interaction Design at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. In 2014-2016, they attended La Salle BCN and obtained a Project Management Master's degree. María also holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Industrial Design from the University School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona, which they completed from 2010-2014. Additionally, they studied Experimental Drawing at the Toronto School of Art in 2009-2010. María completed their Ontario Secondary School Diploma, with a focus on Science and Technology, at IRIQUOIS RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL in 2008-2010. Finally, María has a degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the University School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona, although specific dates for this program are not provided.
