Mechatronics Engineer at Moley Robotics

Elias Sidiropoulos has worked in various roles since 2013. From 2013 to 2015, they were an Artillery Soldier in the Cypriot National Guard, where they were trained on Military Education, Wireless Communications and Vehicle Maintenance & Control. Elias was then promoted to Soldier Officer and was involved in the administrative work of their unit. In 2015, they worked as a Construction Engineer at Chulalongkorn University. In 2016, they were a Merchant Relations Officer at JCC Payment Systems Ltd. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Freelance Software & Content Developer, designing a week-long mechatronics course focusing on autonomous cars using Arduinos and developing computer games in Python, for Cambridge-based educational companies. Elias also ran tailored teaching sessions on topics such as the implementation of Minimax algorithms in gaming and Pulse-Width Modulation in signals. Since 2018, Elias has been a Mechatronics Engineer at ZOA Robotics, where they have researched available technologies and framed experiments to analyse materials and manufacturing methods and obtain quantitative insights into performance criteria of new component designs. Elias has also been involved in electronic design of PCBs to implement sinusoidal commutation at motors and hardware redesign of load-bearing components to achieve incline locomotion. Elias has also produced mechanical drawings and liaised with manufacturers to obtain prototypes of new components for in-house assembly and/or further scientific testing. Since 2019, they have been a Mechatronics Engineer at Moley Robotics.

Elias Sidiropoulos completed their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, they attended The English School, Nicosia from 2006 to 2013.
