Demosthenes Maratos

Demosthenes Maratos is an experienced professional in government relations and communications, currently serving as the Government Relations Manager and Communications Director for the Sustainability Institute at Molloy University since January 2009. The Sustainability Institute focuses on promoting informed debate about sustainability issues and integrating sustainability into the university's curriculum, operations, and culture, as well as the broader Long Island community. Prior to this, Demosthenes held the position of Executive Director at Long Island Neighborhood Network from November 1989 to January 2015, leading the region's largest environmental and public advocacy organization. Demosthenes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from St. John's University, earned between 1985 and 1990, and completed education at the School of Hard Knocks from 1982 to 1985.
