Rufus Nagel

Rufus Nagel has over 20 years of experience in the business industry. From 1998 to 2012, they held various roles in different companies. In 1998, they were a Product Manager at Wolfram Research. In 1996, they were an Associate at ARCH University of Chicago, where they worked with the Physics/Engineering portfolio at The University of Chicago, Argonne National Labs, and Fermi Labs. In 1999, they were a Founding Member and VP Finance at allposters.com, where they helped do all that is done when starting a business for the first time. Theirconcentrations were on web analytics, business development, and product development. Rufus also led the effort to build a large referral network of sites. In 2000, they were a Founding Member and VP Finance at Endur, where they developed all Financial models and aided the creation of the business plan. Rufus closed on a $26 million equity round with Calpine Energy as the sole investor. In 2003, they were a Founding Member and CFO at Stellar Vision, which was acquired by Meeting Sciences. Rufus developed the business plan and all financial models, helped secure several rounds of outside funding, and developed the marketing strategy and product definition. In 2011, they were a Manager at Observatory Park Place and a Board Member at Odyssey Charter School. In 2010, they were the CFO at Dovetail Homes Fund I, LLC, where they invested in fix-and-flip projects in Denver, Colorado. Finally, from 2012 to present, they have been the CEO and Managing Member at Molly's Spirits. As the CEO, they are responsible for establishing the overall vision and trajectory for the company, with an emphasis on growth, innovation, and care for customers, staff, and vendors. Rufus also looks after the success of the business and staff while guiding them toward an even more successful future. Additionally, they are a Board Member at YouthBiz, Inc., where they provided financial and entrepreneurial help and aided the transition from a founder/CEO-run organization to a second-generation company with professional staff.

Rufus Nagel attended The Bronx High School of Science from 1984 to 1988 and earned a High School degree. Rufus then attended the University of Chicago from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics. From 1992 to 1998, they attended The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine to study Medical Physics. In December 2015, they obtained a Duolingo Spanish Fluency: Beginner (Estimated) certification from Duolingo.
