Yong Chen Yeoh's work experience begins with an internship at AMADA Japan in 2012, where they gained practical experience in operating CNC machines and conducted testing for special purpose tooling. Yong Chen then worked as an Assistant Mechanical Engineer at YAMAZAKI MAZAK SINGAPORE PTE LTD from May 2013 to March 2016, providing innovative solutions for customer production requirements and proposing automation solutions. From April 2016 to July 2017, they held the position of Mechanical Engineer at the same company, where they continued to provide innovative solutions and prepare technical guidelines.
In 2017, Yong Chen joined Nanyang Technological University as a PHD Candidate. Their research focused on developing an additive manufacturing standard for printing parts with consistent and reliable mechanical properties. Yong Chen conducted experiments to develop process parameters for Nickel super alloy using Design of Experiment (DoE) and analyzed the microstructure and mechanical properties using various techniques. Yong Chen also analyzed the thermal history in the printing process and correlated it with the complex heterogeneity on the printed component.
Starting in August 2017, Yong Chen worked as an R&D Engineer at ST Aerospace until November 2021.
Lastly, they are currently employed at MolyWorks as a Lead Process Engineer and Engineering and Technical Manager, starting from November 2021.
Yong Chen Yeoh completed their education in a chronological manner. Yong Chen started by obtaining a Diploma in Precision Engineering from Nanyang Polytechnic in the years 2010 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University Singapore from 2013 to 2017. Their educational journey continued as they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Materials Engineering with a focus on Additive Engineering at Nanyang Technological University Singapore from 2017 to 2021.
