Elizabeth Harris is a seasoned development professional with extensive experience in fundraising and museum operations. Since joining the American Academy in Rome in 2015 as Director of Development, Elizabeth has led comprehensive fundraising strategies and managed a team of eight fundraising experts across two locations. Previous roles include Development Manager at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art American Friends, where Elizabeth developed fundraising strategies and managed a significant budget, as well as various positions at notable institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum and The Jewish Museum, focusing on major gifts and donor engagement. Elizabeth holds advanced degrees in History of Art and Architecture from SOAS University of London and Museum Studies from New York University, complemented by a Bachelor’s in Art History and Near Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan.
