Justin Gagne

Justin Gagne has worked in a variety of roles in the tech industry since 2005. Justin's earliest role was as a Computer Technician for Georgia Piedmont Technical College (formerly DeKalb Technical College) where they executed large-scale installations of Microsoft operating systems over local area networks via Symantec Ghost, performed regular Microsoft updates and solved numerous types of software and hardware related issues. Justin then moved to Integrity Network Consulting Group as a Computer Technician where they installed and maintained Microsoft networks for various private businesses, provided active network security of each user's infrastructure and ensured proper functioning of all hardware and software components. In 2012, Justin worked as a Medical Physicist Assistant at Imaging Physics LLC where they performed quality assurance testing of X-ray and fluoroscopic machines, assured spatial and contrast accuracy of imaging systems and audited power output of machines at varying levels of attenuation. From 2010 to 2015, Justin worked at Georgia State University as a Linux Systems Administrator and Webmaster, Graduate Student, Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant. Justin's roles included expanding the network footprint by installing multiple new CentOS machines, configuring new machines to mount existing Network File System, providing current platform versioning with CentOS package management systems for all user desktops, conducting research on the astrophysics of active galactic nuclei and managing the department's website. From 2015 to 2019, Justin worked at GreenSky® as a Senior Data Scientist, Data Scientist and DevOps Engineer. Justin's roles included automating the deployment of AWS infrastructure with Ansible, creating custom RPMs complete with pre and post install scripts, writing company specific monitoring and healthcheck solutions in Bash and Python, and implementing Apache Spark, Cassandra and mySQL stack in Google Compute Engine (GCE). From 2019 to 2021, Justin worked at Momnt as Head of Data Science and Analytics where they modeled credit data to predict risk and understand insightful features, designed and deployed rules based engines to decision applications for fraud and credit using knowledge inferred from models, and used custom algorithms to implement a product recommendation engine and loan allocation engine. Justin Gagne received a Master of Science (MS) in Physics from Georgia State University from 2012 to 2013. Justin also obtained a BS in Physics from the same university from 2007 to 2012. Additionally, they attended Oglethorpe University, but did not receive a degree. Justin also has several certifications, including Data Science: Data to Insights from MIT Professional Education (obtained in April 2017), Splunk 6.4 for Data Science and Analytics from Splunk (obtained in June 2016), Machine Learning from Coursera (obtained in April 2015), and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) (obtained in September 2022).
