Jenny Byer

Jenny Byer has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Starting in 2011, they worked as a Freelance Writer and Designer, writing website copy and designing web layouts for art and design clients. In 2012, they took on the role of Leadership Development Associate at Garner Printing and Watermark Press, where they coordinated web, social media, and print marketing strategies. Jenny also rotated through different departments as part of a management training program.

In 2017, Jenny joined Emerge America as a Fellow, focusing on training Democratic women in political careers. Jenny also served as the Women's Convention Outreach Lead for the Women's March and as an Organizer for the Michigan Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Network.

From 2018 to 2022, Jenny worked as the Communications Director for Andy Levin's campaign for Congress. Jenny then transitioned to the role of Organizer and Interim Communications Director at MOTHERING JUSTICE.

In 2019, they became the Communications Director to Congressman Andy Levin in the U.S. House of Representatives, later advancing to the position of Deputy Communications Director and Community Outreach.

Currently, Jenny Byer is the Senior Director of Content and Narrative Power Strategy at MomsRising.org, an organization focused on family economic security and reducing discrimination. Their role involves disseminating campaign work, mobilizing followers to action, and growing engagement and the overall power of the movement.

Throughout their career, Jenny has demonstrated a dedication to grassroots organizing, communication strategy, and advancing social justice causes.

Jenny Byer attended Phillips Academy, although the start and end years are unknown. Jenny then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Studies at the California College of the Arts from 2009 to 2011. Before that, they studied Art History at New York University from 2005 to 2007, although they did not complete a degree at that institution.
