MacKenzie Nicholson has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector and policy advocacy. MacKenzie is currently working as a Senior Director at MomsRising.org, where they play a leadership role in the organization. Previously, they worked as a Principal Consultant at Kids First Consulting, providing project management services and grassroots strategies for nonprofit organizations. MacKenzie also served as a Public Policy Manager at the Alzheimer's Association, focusing on policy advocacy. Prior to that, MacKenzie worked as a Grassroots Manager at the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, leading advocacy campaigns and engaging volunteers. MacKenzie also served as a Research Fellow on Vulnerable Families at the UNH Carsey School of Public Policy, conducting policy research and analyzing data. Earlier in their career, MacKenzie worked as a Field Director at Every Child Matters, coordinating advocacy events and offering testimony on legislation affecting children and families. MacKenzie began their career as an Assistant Teacher at the Child Study and Development Center, where they observed and documented children's development and implemented age-appropriate lesson plans.
MacKenzie Nicholson completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Family Studies with a focus on Child Advocacy and Family Policy at the University of New Hampshire from 2008 to 2012. MacKenzie then pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of New Hampshire between 2017 and 2018.
