Ruth Martin has an extensive work history in the field of advocacy and campaigns. Ruth began their career in 2004 at the People For the American Way Foundation as Deputy Field Director for Election Protection. In 2005, they transitioned to People For the American Way as Director of State Campaigns & Deputy Field Director. In 2007, Ruth joined Women's Campaign Forum as Director of Civic Engagement, and in 2008, they moved to Parenthood Federation of America as Assistant Director, Government Relations.
Ruth's career progressed further when they joined MomsRising.org in 2010 as a Campaign Director. Over the years, they took on more responsibilities and advanced within the organization. Ruth became Senior Campaign Director in 2012 and National Director in 2015.
Ruth continued to excel in their work and was promoted to Vice President in 2017 and then to Senior Vice President in January 2020. Ruth's work experience showcases their commitment to advocacy, leadership, and their ability to take on increasingly senior roles within organizations.
Ruth Martin attended Randolph College from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. Ruth also participated in the Washington Semester Program at American University in 1997. In 2017, Ruth attended the Rockwood Leadership Institute, completing the Art of Leadership for Women in Racial Justice and Human Rights program.
