EVP, CFO at Money Mart

Scott Cohen is a financial services industry leader with over 25 years of diverse leadership experience across the finance discipline. From funding fintechs, to navigating the internet bubble, to rebuilding after the 2008 mortgage crisis, Scott has led a dynamic career helping companies navigate challenges and leverage opportunities to position for success.

Scott became the Chief Financial Officer of Money Mart Financial Services in February 2020 after serving as the company’s Chief Accounting Officer for four years. As CFO, his mandate is to improve enterprise value and customer loyalty through automated, reliable, data-driven guidance. He focuses on data analytics, six sigma efficiency, and responsible practices.

Prior to joining Money Mart Financial Services, Scott spent 10 years at Ally Financial (formerly GMAC), helping restructure and manage through the 2008 economic downturn. Scott was instrumental in the rebuilding of the company’s mortgage business and the divestiture of its European operations.

Prior to Ally, Scott held leadership roles within JPMorgan Chase and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Notably, his experience includes developing and structuring innovative finance products and leading teams engaged in over fifty acquisitions and accelerated transition projects.

Scott received his formative training at the University of California (Berkley) and Columbia Business School and has studied extensively at Cornell’s Change Management and Leadership Programs. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and valuation analyst.
