John Owens has worked in various roles throughout their career. John started in 1997 as an Analyst Programmer at Computer Software Group, where they were involved in business analysis and problem-solving. John then became a Project Manager at the same company, managing complex implementation and development projects.

In 2006, John joined HBOS as a Project Manager, where they were responsible for formal project management and delivery of complex development projects. John also served as a change manager for major IT initiatives across the department.

In 2008, John joined as a Senior Project Manager, where they had full ownership and delivery of multiple web and mobile projects. John also played a significant role in the agile development transformation across the business and technology departments. Later, they took on the role of a Programme Manager, where they led digital product delivery, agile transformation, offshore/nearshore delivery, vendor selection and management, budget management, coaching and mentoring, stakeholder management, governance processes, risk management, resource management, line management, and continuous improvement. John also achieved the successful delivery of a new mobile app providing customers with credit file information and financial recommendations.

In 2019, John joined MAG-O as a Senior Delivery Manager before becoming the Head of Delivery at Moneypenny.

John Owens attended the University of Liverpool from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained a 2:1 degree in Computer Information Systems. In terms of additional certifications, they completed the PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner Certification Training in 2005, the Institute of Leadership & Management (level 5) course in 2010, and the Managing Successful Programmes course from MSP in 2013.
