Jeremy Thorp

Jeremy Thorp has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Jeremy is currently an Engineering Team Lead for Storage Engines at MongoDB since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked at CSIRO's Data61 from 2015 to 2021, where they served as a Group Leader and Senior Principal Software Engineer. During their tenure, they managed cross-functional teams, conducted privacy research, and developed software using various programming languages and microservice architectures. Before joining CSIRO, Jeremy worked at Canon Information Systems Research Australia (CISRA) from 2002 to 2015, where they held the positions of R&D Manager and Principal Software Engineer. At CISRA, they managed teams, led software development projects, and won an IP Award for a browser toolbar plugin. Before CISRA, Jeremy was a Software Team Leader at Bullant from 2000 to 2001, where they led the development of a client application and implemented an automated testing framework. Jeremy started their career as a Software Engineer at Inmos from 1985 to 1993, where they developed parallel processing software tools and contributed to compiler development.

Jeremy Thorp earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) from 1999 to 2002. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Bristol, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science with Mathematics from 1982 to 1985. Jeremy'searlier education took place at Colfe's School from 1975 to 1982, although specific degrees or fields of study are not mentioned.
