Monmouth County Park System
Megan Orens has extensive experience in environmental education and outreach, currently serving as a Park Naturalist for the Monmouth County Park System since September 2021. Prior roles include Volunteer & Urban Advantage Coordinator at the Staten Island Zoo, Social Media Manager at the Shark Research Institute, and Teacher for 5-8 grade Math and Science at The Sisters Academy. Additionally, Megan Orens held multiple positions at the American Littoral Society, including Membership and Outreach Director and Education Coordinator. Early experience also includes working as an Environmental Program Leader for the Monmouth County Parks System. Megan Orens holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Marine and Environmental Biology and Policy from Monmouth University, earned between 2011 and 2014.

Monmouth County Park System is made up of over 40 park areas to explore throughout Monmouth County, New Jersey. The Park System is overseen by the Board of Recreation Commissioners who are committed to improving the quality of life of the citizens of Monmouth County by providing open space, park and recreation areas, facilities, programs, and services of the highest quality and to furnishing these recreational and educational opportunities in the most effective, efficient, and economical manner possible.
