Alan Vigueras

Associate Scientist at Monod Bio

Alan Vigueras has a diverse work experience in various scientific and educational roles. Alan began their career as a Research Fellow at the Instituto de Química UNAM in 2003, where they conducted research. From 2005 to 2008, they worked as a Laboratory Technician at the Instituto Nacional de Neurología y Neurocirugía.

In 2009, Alan joined the Facultad de Medicina - UNAM as a Predoctoral Researcher until 2010. Alan then pursued their doctoral degree and worked as a Doctoral Researcher at the Aragon Institute of Engineering Research (I3A) from 2011 to 2015.

In 2017, they transitioned to the industry and became a Senior Scientist at Bio Contec BIODEVICES. SA. de CV., where they served until 2019. During this time, they gained expertise in scientific research and development.

From 2018 to 2019, Alan also worked as a Professor at the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Alan taught courses on various subjects, including laboratory miniaturization technology, industrial design, biomaterials, nanomaterials, intelligent materials, and textiles.

After their academic roles, Alan joined CCC – powered by TELUS International in 2019 as a Content Moderator. Alan later advanced to the position of Senior Content Moderator and Subject Matter Expert at TELUS International Europe, where they worked until 2022.

Their most recent position is as a Postdoctoral Scientific Researcher at Monod Bio, starting in 2023. Overall, Alan Vigueras has a strong background in scientific research, teaching, and industry experience in the field of biomedical engineering.

Alan Vigueras received their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México from 2001 to 2005. Alan then pursued a Master's degree in Biochemical Sciences at the same university from 2009 to 2010. Later, they attended Universidad de Zaragoza from 2011 to 2016 and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
