Kwang-Soo Kim (Alex)

Kwang-Soo (Alex) Kim is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in power module packaging and development. Currently serving as Lead Principal Packaging Engineer at Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. since January 2023, Kwang-Soo plays a pivotal role in the development of WBG power modules and packages. Previously, at Texas Instruments, from June 2020 to January 2023, Kwang-Soo focused on GaN power package and IPM development. At LG Electronics, from February 2016 to May 2020, Kwang-Soo led projects resulting in award-winning power modules for electric vehicle traction inverters, achieving significant milestones such as world-leading power density and successful design-ins with OEMs. Kwang-Soo's earlier experience at Samsung Electro-Mechanics involved the development of integrated power electronics modules for flat panel displays and managing significant projects funded by the DOE for green commercial vehicles. Kwang-Soo holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor's degree from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
