Roger Krakoff

Roger is a successful early stage enterprise venture capitalist. For over twenty years he has invested in a wide range of leading technology enabled solutions focused on improving the productivity and efficiency of businesses. Roger is the founding member of Cloud Capital Partners. He seed funded or help start over 15 companies focused on enterprise cloud computing including DocuSign (DOCU) and Acquia. Currently he is a member of the Advisory Boards at TrackMaven and Workspot. Formerly, he served on the boards of Cloud Technology Partners (sold to HP Enterprise), Compass.io (sold to Sage Software), Iron.io (sold to Oracle), Flow.io (sold to Sierra Wireless), SeeWhy (sold to SAP), Cloudscaling (sold to EMC), Aprimo Software (sold to Teradata), Intraspect Software (sold to Vignette) and was a Board observer at Interactions Software, Acquia, Blue Agave (sold to I2 Technologies), newBrandAnalytics (sold to Spriklr) Tervala Software and Densify.

Roger is also a co-founder of IoT Capital Partners. IoT Capital Partners is an early stage Boston based investment fund focused on enabling technologies and application-specific solutions that enable the instrumentation of the physical world or ‘The Internet of Things’. It works closely with the IoT Impact Lab – a dedicated effort to deploy and understand IoT technologies in the real world. In 2017 the IoT Impact Lab was acquired by Context Labs.

Roger was also Venture Partner for over five years at Sigma Partners focusing on the enterprise software, IT, and business services industries. During that time he sourced and made investments in eight investments which also included DocuSign, vLingo (Sold to Nuance Communications), WordStream, Virtera (sold to Glasshouse Technologies) in addition to providing broad portfolio support in the areas of strategy, new customer acquisition, and financing.

Before Sigma, Roger was a partner with JEGI Capital, focusing on the intersection of technology with the media, marketing and information industries. He has also served as a Managing Director in Veronis Suhler Stevenson's Business & Professional Information Group and directed the private equity fund's investing efforts in the healthcare information market (Solucient LLC– acquired by Thomas Corporation), in addition to its efforts in venture investing. Roger has held senior executive positions in corporate development, marketing, and product management at WebLine Communications (acquired by Cisco Systems), Stream International (acquired by Solectron), the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, where he founded D&B Services; D&B Small Business Solutions, and opened business credit joint venture operations across Eastern Europe. He began his career at IBM. Roger is a frequent speaker and a writer on venture capital industry.

Roger earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and a Bachelor of Arts with High Honors in International Relations and Economics from Tufts University.

Roger is a mentor at TechStars Boston and Accelprise and in the past TechStars Cloud. He is on the Board of the Tisch School at Tufts University, the Rennie Center for Education Policy, the Greenlight Fund Boston, and a Trustee for the Boys and Girls Club of Boston.
