Kelly Sicat is the Director of the Lucas Artists Program at Montalvo Arts Center. Kelly previously worked as the Coordinator of LACMALab at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art from March 1999 to January 2007.
Sicat was responsible for coordinating five ground breaking, experimental exhibitions for LACMALab. This public program was designed for research and development at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Sicat worked with museum curators and educators, notable local architects, outside experts, local educational institutions, and contemporary artists to develop these exhibitions.
Over 30 installations and projects were created for the highly experimental, participatory age-free gallery. Some of the commissioned artists include Allan Kaprow, Jennifer Steinkamp, Michael Asher, John Outterbridge, Eleanor Antin, Kenny Scharf, Daniel J Martinez, John Baldessari, Delia Brown, Mario Ybarra Jr., Dorit Cypis, Bruce Yonemoto, Mark Bradford and Barbara Kruger.
Kelly Sicat has a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology/Sociology from Rocky Mountain College. Kelly also has a Fine Arts degree from the same school.
