Eric Dietrich

Eric Dietrich is an experienced journalist and data designer with a focus on fiscal policy and community engagement. Currently serving as a reporter for the Montana Free Press since January 2019, Eric has contributed to significant projects such as the Long Streets Project. Prior freelance journalism work has included covering various aspects of life in Montana since July 2017. Previous roles encompass project reporting for the Solutions Journalism Network, city hall reporting for the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, and courts and cops reporting for the Great Falls Tribune. Eric also has notable experience in mentorship and project management through leadership roles in the MSU Engineers Without Borders Chapter, recognized for developing sustainable infrastructure in Kenya, and participation in a research project addressing environmental health on the Crow Indian Reservation. Eric holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Montana State University and an International Baccalaureate Diploma from Beaverton High School.
